The Year 3&4 football team had their first tournament this week on a cold Tuesday night. The girls tried really hard in each match, learning from each game and working as a team throughout.
In their opening game the two teams were very closely matched with both teams learning from the experience. With the final kick of the match Poppy managed to score a screamer to pull Ernesford back level and get the team’s first goal and point!
In the next two games we unfortunately lost both to more experienced teams. The girls tried really hard as a team but losing by the odd goal.
In the final game of the night the girls really wanted to finish with a win. I’m happy to say they kept their best performance until the end. Lucy managed to get herself the team’s first hat trick and Veronica scoring a couple of goals in the tournament. There were also goals in the tournament for Jochebed and Harley. An impressive start to the team by Georgia and a great start in goal by Isla.
Well done team and we will look forward to the next one ⚽️
