Reception enjoyed starting the week with ‘Odd Socks Day’. They thought all about what is means to be kind (and learning the Makaton sign) and designed their own odd socks creating repeated patterns. Reception enjoyed working on their balance and coordination, whilst navigating the space safely, during their scooter session outside. The learnt to use a ramp and played games, taking it in turns to be the rabbit.
Reception have enjoyed making wallpaper for the new (and improved) book area. Outside, they have been bowling and counting the skittles knocked down and have been pretending to go on holiday. Reception enjoyed reading ‘The Colour Monster’. They discussed each of his emotions, collaged their own monster (using a range of materials) and were able to play around with facial expressions.
