We had fun dressing up for World Book Day!

We had fun designing and making our very own moon buggies. We brought a box into school, painted it and added an axel, a satellite and a chair. We’re hoping to add the wheels next week. We hope you like them!
In year 1 we have been learning about materials. We went on a hunt around school to find, touch, compare and name the materials that different objects are made from. We worked with our partner and wrote down our results. We found a metal drain, a wooden dolls house, a plastic chair and glass windows to name but a few.
In Science we have been learning all about our senses and have discussed what it is like to live with sensory loss. We had a special visit from the Guide dogs for the blind. They told us all about how their dogs help people who are blind or partially sighted. We learnt a lot and we got to see Jenny
We had a surprise visit from two elves. They came all the way from the North Pole! They told the children all about what they do to help Father Christmas. They were a little bit naughty too!
We listened to the story of the very first Christmas and discussed why it is important to Christians. We then had fun making a king for St Bartholomew’s churches Christmas tree festival. We have had fun doing all different kinds of craft in skills academy for key stage 1!
We wore odd socks for anti bullying week. We spoke about what bullying means and the importance of being kind to our friends. We also designed our own posters!
