Skills academy was a lot of messy fun this week: donut eating with no lip licking, guess the skittle flavour, guess the crisp flavour, guess the chocolate, and sliding an after eight and chocolate digestive into your mouth.

Our science week was full of exciting experiments. The children are investigating how many laces they can gather when they have different restrictions: on their knees, boxer gloves, blindfolded and free as a bird.
The last round of skills academy started very well for the Year 6!
The children enjoyed tasting different foods from Mexico. We were impressed with how adventurous they were at trying the spicy foods. We also enjoyed decorating our ‘Day of the dead’ masks and making our own lanterns.
The children applied their maths knowledge to find out the answers to a variety of questions.
We took our maths lesson outside this week and went on a road trip. We calculated how far we had travelled each hour and then created a line graph to represent our journey.
We were impressed with the fruit and vegetables growing in our Geodome and helped t water the flowerbeds.
This week, we made the most of the one sunny day we had and went to visit the newts at the pond. It was a lot of fun! We were pleasantly surprised with how many we found but disgusted by the smell of the water.
Jeevan and Jan brought in their bunnies to share with year 6. We all enjoyed having a cuddle, watching them play and letting them sleep to our relaxing music. A big thank you to both boys and their families for letting us borrow your special pets for the day.
