Year 6 had a visit from a local scientist and learnt about light. We carried out a variety of different experiments and had a lot of fun.

On Wednesday, our year 6 football team played a tough match against Pearl Hyde. They showed real team work and commitment and won the match 3-1. They are doing very well in the league, winning 2 games and drawing one, and continue to show a high level of enthusiasm for the game. Well done boys and Mr Hancock and Callum
Year 5 enjoyed their PE lesson outside this week perfecting the game of Throlf which is a version of golf which encorporates throwing.
Skills academy for this half term is underway. We have a multitude of clubs on offer: drama, rugby, running, rounders, cricket, art, bead making, Lego, film making, sign language, sewing and cooking.
We couldn’t be prouder of the children for how hard they’ve worked this week! They have worked very hard and done their best – we couldn’t have asked for anymore from them. We celebrated the end of SATs with a BBQ and games on the field.
We celebrated the Queen’s platinum jubilee with cakes, squash and some traditional games. We have enjoyed learning about our monarch and watching some clips from her coronation 70 years ago!
During the afternoon, some children went to the learning hub to practice their Maths skills with Miss Panesar.
This half term year 6 are practising their skills required for rounders.
Chester loved his time with the children and they certainly enjoyed their time with him.
