A fantastic first week in our new groups.

We had a glorious trip to the Cathedral visiting the new new and old. We learnt a lot of new facts, saw numerous interesting artefacts and gained more of an understanding of the Coventry Blitz.
The children really enjoyed dressing up as World War 2 evacuees. They made their own Anderson shelters, ate rationed food and learnt the national anthem.
Our patience and resilience was put to the test when using a needle and thread to make our sock toys but we were very pleased with the results. Returning to basics and putting down the electronics was more fun than we thought. Teamwork was the key and Miss Appleton and Mrs Pedley were very pleased (and relieved) to have some
To round off October’s walk to school month, the children walked to school and then enjoyed eating breakfast with their friends. This was a wonderful social event and a brilliant way to start the day. Thank you to all the children who came and to their parents/carers for bringing them.

Year 6 have been working very hard with their writing this week. We have been writing a recount based on our class reader ‘Letters from the Lighthouse.’ Using The Write Stuff approach has helped to improve our vocabulary, sentence construction and use of punctuation. Thank you to all the families who attended our first Saturday running event. It was lovely to see so many happy faces enjoying some exercise together! Thankfully the sun was shining. We will be holding more events throughout the year.
