Thank you to all the children who came dressed up for World Book Day today, you all looked amazing! Thank you also to the parents for all their support. We enjoyed listening to Mr Taylor reading “Here We Are” by Oliver Jeffers. We focussed on the part of the story that said “Though we have come a long way, we
We read the poem “The Song of the Witches” from Macbeth. We started by looking at the lines from the poem and predicting which order they went in. Mrs Kingswell’s maths group have had some of their maths lessons in the Learning Hub. The children have been learning how to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers by a 1-digit number. They started by partitioning the numbers and then checked their answers by scanning QR codes. Then they moved onto using more formal written methods.
The children have worked hard with the weaving work we have done in our Warp and Weft topic. They were given the challenge of using a piece of their weaving as part of a design for a Christmas card. We have been really impressed with their imagination!
The children completed our Christmas Maths Challenge this week. They solved problems based on our learning this term and enjoyed checking the answers and punching their challenge cards if they had worked out the correct answer!

We designed packaging for our crisps and made the vegetable crisps to go inside. Some of us are hoping to have another go making some more at home!
On Monday we sang our Christmas songs around the tree. Mr Riley and Gareth helped us film them and we can’t wait to see the finished video and share it with you.
We started our Autumn Art project last week and had a go at weaving. We learned that the strings on a loom were called the warps and the threads we wove in and out were called wefts. We continued with our weaving today when we also watched the England v Iran World Cup football match.
We started our Science work, finding out about sound. We tried to answer the question “how are sounds made” and found out that sounds are made when something vibrates.
