Welcome back to all the children in Year 4. All the children have settled really well and impressed us with their enthusiasm. We started the term by reminding ourselves of our school values – responsibility, resilience and respect – and thought particularly about our respect value and being kind. Congratulations to the green team who were the overall year 4 winners and well done to all the year 4 children for making it such a fun afternoon. You all showed such enthusiasm, determination and really great sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Hancock and Mr Burgess for organising it all.
Mrs Kingswell’s maths group went into the learning hub and worked together to solve some money problems. Then the children had a go at writing their own problems for their friends to solve.
4K visited Morrisons today for a Foodmaker and Shopkeeper Tour. Kayleigh gave us a guided tour of the store, the children got into teams to see who could scan the shopping the quickest and then we went upstairs to make fruit salads. The children said it was the most fun they’d ever had in a shop!! 4SE will be going
Year 4 took part in a sponsored litter pick to support Earth Day 2022 – helping to look after our planet. Year 4 have been finding out about the growth of the Roman Empire. We went outside to re-enact some of their invasions.
Year 3 and 4 have been having fun this half term in their Skills Academy Clubs. Our clubs have included: running, boccia, clay making, mindfulness, bootcamp, outdoor sports activities and bead making. In the Summer Term there will be even more clubs to choose from as we are now able to return to a full KS2 Skills Academy. The children
We went outside today and practised counting forwards and backwards in French. We counted how many times we could throw and catch a tennis ball and how many skips we could do before we tripped on the rope.
