Last week was Anti-Bullying Week. We wore odd socks on Monday to share awareness of our differences, and show what makes us all unique!
This week, Year 4 had the fantastic opportunity to ride scooters and learn about keeping safe while riding. Even though it rained, we had a brilliant time!
This week in science, we investigated pitch of sound. We used straws to make pan pipes and see which length would make a high pitched sound, and which would make a low pitched sound.
Year 4 had a wonderful time on Monday afternoon. We had a scrumptious BBQ (thank you Mr Taylor and Mr Hancock for doing the cooking) and did lots of fun activities such as football, archery and rocket science. We even had a Viking themed treasure hunt! Thank you to everyone involved and for everyone’s support! We had so much fun!
This week as part of Year 4’s Sound topic, we have been experimenting to see what would be the best material to absorb sound. We used a range of materials to wrap a bell in. One person shook the bell and another counted how many steps away they could hear it from.
As part of our ‘Sound’ science topic, Year 4 have been investigating pitch with different objects. We created pan pipes out of card and paper straws to see how the pitch would sound with different lengths of straw. 4K carefully cutting their straws to the lengths they want. 4K’s end results! 4H’s end results!
Last week, Year 4 had some very furry special guests spend the day with us. Jazmin very kindly allowed us to have her two 8 week old bunnies! 4H and 4K had a lot of fun learning all about Snoopy and Snowball, and were able to stroke and hold them. Thank you to Jazmin and her family for allowing us
