Year 6 enjoyed thinking scientifically when they investigated shadows. They spent time in the playground looking at how shadows are formed, and in the classroom conducted experiments to show how we could make them bigger and smaller.

Year 6 had a few unexpected challenges to face today as they began their journey through the frozen kingdoms!
As part of their Britain at War work Year 6 used their sewing skills to design and make a toy suitable for a child during World War 2 following the principles of Make Do and Mend. The children also enjoyed creating new clothes from old.
Mr Taylor and Chester enjoyed sharing some of their favourite stories.
Year 6 were transported back to October 1942 as they were evacuated to the countryside for their safety. Their journey began at Holdenby House where they were instructed by Stella the land girl, Mrs North the cook and Mrs FO before being billeted in local villages.
Year 6 used their knowledge of place value and addition to find the missing numbers
The children really enjoyed starting our European languages day by attending our French breakfast.
On Thursday Year 6 joined other schools in the network to take part in a day of activities and orienteering. The weather was fantastic and the children were able to spend a large part of the day playing and having fun. Callum’s group found all but one of the orienteering markers, and were therefore the winners amongst Ernesford Grange. Although,
Year 6 used their classification and observational skills to decide which kingdom each fossil belonged to.
The children ended the day with a number of challenges including the Labyrinth!
