Saturday brought glorious weather as each group headed out for an action packed day. Group E had the opportunity to swim, solve challenges as a team, conquer a zip line and try to avoid falling into the slimey pond !

After a long journey thanks to Friday night traffic, we arrived safely and began to settle in to Dol Y Moch. The children were keen to explore and soon settled into their new routines.

The theme of World Book Day this year is, You are a reader! Year 6 had fun dressing up and sharing their favourite books.
The children began the day with an assembly which gave them the opportunity to look at all the fantastic costumes. As always the children really rose to the occasion and had fun taking part!
Year 6 continued their environmental art project by raising awareness of the problem of plastic in our oceans. Today the pupils began to make fish out of plastic bottles as one component of their art piece.
As part of our Frozen Kingdoms work this term, Year 6 are looking at the impact on the environment of climate change and plastic pollution. They studied the work of environmental artists before trying to create their own.
This week Year 6 began to investigate the problems associated with plastic especially its role in ocean pollution. They linked this to the work of environmental artists and produced their own digital pieces of work.
Year 6 worked together using their knowledge of percentages to identify a good bargain when shopping.
