We’ve had a busy half term in forest school! Children have created homes for dinosaurs, made journey sticks, looked for mini beasts, picked blackberries, had a fire, and even made their own blackberry drink… which was delicious!
In science the children have been naming parts of a stegosaurus. They used their phonetic knowledge to label the dinosaur.
Over the last couple of weeks Year 1 children have been looking at addition, subtraction, doubling and estimating. We have used lots of practical resources to engage the children in their learning.
Year 1 have been getting creative! Children have been learning to recite poems and make puppets. They also learnt about fossils and the great fossil hunter Mary Anning.
The children went outside to make their own number lines, with natural items they found in our outdoor classroom.
We’ve had a busy first few weeks in year 1! Ben brought Cyan the Chameleon in to visit year 1. We had lots of questions for Ben and saw Cyan eat a live worm!
Year 1 have enjoyed a camp fire, hot chocolate and getting muddy!
