We had fun mixing primary colours in different ways… we folded paper and used the rollers to create different colours and patterns.
We dodged the rain and had a toasted marshmallow. Children shared jokes and songs by the fire. It was a lovely way to end our forest school sessions!
Here is a selection of photographs from this half terms skills academy club. We have played in the forest school area, learnt new games, visited the herb garden and dome, been on a minibeast hunt, made pictures and had fun in the Autumn leaves!
Mr Withers taught the children in year 1 to play several notes to create a melody.
Children made numbers that were the same as each other by using the numicon.
We’ve been learning about how life has changed in Britain since the 1950s. Children thought about different aspects of life including jobs, entertainment and transport. Year 1 made a timeline of some significate events since the 1950s. We talked about the different decades and worked out when we were born on the timeline.
Children made dens out of tarps, rope and pegs. They worked together to make successful shelters to keep themselves dry in the rain. They had fun playing in them afterwards!
Children made ‘tree cookies’ by sawing some wood. They enjoyed a hot chocolate and a sing song around the fire circle. We also went to see the dome and smelt the herbs. Several children were overheard saying ‘this is the best day ever!’ It was fun!
