Year 3 have been busy looking at the techniques used to make Beaker Pots from the Bronze Age. For our Art work this half term Year Three have been investigating contrasting and complementary colours. We made our own colour wheels using watercolour paints and looked at work from various artists. Our final piece had to try and replicate the colours used in the artists work. A.s part of our Science work, Year 3 have learnt all about our skeletons and how they help our bodies to move. We researched the names of all the different bones that make up our skeleton. One of our tasks involved sticking labels on each other to guess the correct bones in our body! This was great fun! We also
Year 3 have been busy this week designing and making tacos to eat. The children had a choice of recipes either a roasted vegetable or chicken. In groups ,with the help of Miss Storey, the children chopped and prepared the ingredients including peppers, onions, courgettes and chicken. Year 3 have had a super start to the year and had a great time on Thursday having a go on the bouncy assault course! There was lots of smiley faces and tired legs after all the bouncing and running. We even managed to avoid the rain! Thank you to everyone for sponsoring and taking part.
Year 3 had a great trip to Creswell Crags Heritage Museum to learn all about the Stone Age. We had a lovely day learning all about how people in the Stone Age survived- how they hunted, what food they ate, the types of clothes they wore and lots of other interesting facts. Year 3 had great fun making our own 2-D and 3-D shapes this week. We investigated the properties of each shape and then worked in groups to have a go at making them. We were even able to eat them afterwards as the vertices (corners) were made from marshmellows!!
