We have started our ‘Round the World Trip’ by travelling to Wales! Mr Taylor came to teach us some Welsh. He taught us how to count to 10 and how to say the colour names. Miss Richards, whose family is from Wales, made some delicious traditional Welsh cakes for us to taste! Yummy!! We have also coloured in some Welsh
Reception had a exciting time counting traffic on Binley Road! We saw lots of different kinds of vehicles. This was a wonderful way to start our new topic “Are we there yet?”
We had a fantastic day learning about the Queen and her Platinum Jubilee! We played lots of games and ended the day with a party!
We had to colour the hexagons. We could use whatever colours we liked. Our challenge was to make sureno hexagons next to each other were the same colour!
This week we are learning about bees! We have tasted honey sandwiches and have rolled beeswax candles! On Friday 20th May, it was World Bee Day!
Over the last 4 weeks we have watched our own pet caterpillars grow and change into beautiful butterflies!
Making paper ladybirds is a great way to practise doubling and also our cutting and sticking skills!
Reception looked closely at photos of different minibeasts! We then painted our own pictures! We thought carefully about the colour and the shape of their bodies, the number of legs and whether they had wings or not. We also thought about their habitats.
Reception worked in pairs to make words using phoneme frames.
