We had lots of fun in P.E. playing some parachute games!
Reception had a wonderful time exploring the woods looking for minibeasts. We then did some pond dipping and found some other exciting water creatures! We also enjoyed having a picnic!
We have spent this half term learning about sound and music.Our topic has finished with a little concert, using sounds in songs, thinking about different voice sounds, playing our wonderful home-made instruments in different ways, including forte and piano! We had lots of musical visitors this week! Mr Fardon played songs we know in different styles on his piano. We thought of words to describe the music. Mrs Emslie’s sister, Jane, came to play songs on her ukulele. We sang along to some nursery rhymes. She also showed us her saxophone! Chloe, Mrs Copeland’s daughter, bought in her acoustic guitar,
Mr Riley plays a trumpet and trombone! We recognised some of the tunes he played, such as ‘Incy Wincy’ and ‘Harry Potter’!
This week we have been learning about orchestras and the different families of instruments! Did you know that in an orchestra there is a woodwind section, a strings section, a brass section and a percussion section? We had fun with our ‘Percussion Orchestra’ and our ‘Pots and Pans Orchestra’!
We had great fun dressing up and held a cake sale to raise money for Comic Relief! We raised lots of money! Many thanks for the delicious cakes that you donated and for your continued support.
We had lots of fun dressing up as superheroes for the day and enjoyed eating yummy cakes! We raised lots of money too for Comic Relief!
We have been scientists this week! We have done lots of different experiments to explore the science of sound. We have learned how vibrations make sound waves in the air.
