WEEK 3: We made toasted sandwiches. Firstly, we buttered the bread to stop the bread sticking to the special toasted sandwich machine (and to make to bread nice and crispy on the outside). Next, we put our fillings on the top slice (cheese/pepperoni). Then, we put the bottom slice over the filling and put it in the machine to toast.

Year 2 have been thinking about how important it is to treat with kindness and respect. We have also reminded the children that they must tell a trusted adult if they have been upset. To spread the message, they made posters and wore odd socks!
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been creating a colourful and bold piece of art which we mounted on black card. We think they look amazing!
In Year 2, we have been practising using base 10 and calculation mats to help us add across a 10. Using the apparatus helped us with our place value and with our regrouping when crossing over a 10.
Deedee from 1decision has been teaching us how to tie our own shoe laces. We tied string around the table legs using the ‘bunny ears’ technique. How did we do?
Year 6 are learning to combine their ukulele skills with their song writing skills. In pairs, they have started to write their own song with ukulele accompaniment. I’m looking forward to hearing them once they’re performance ready!
The Nursery children have been enjoying accompanying their favourite nursery rhymes by playing a range of percussion instruments. They have been trying hard to keep a steady beat.
We have been investigating a new adding strategy where we add to the next 10 and then on from there. We used a tens frame and counters first, then tried to represent it on a number line afterwards.
