The children played a game where they made a composition using football cards! Each one had a number and an instrument was matched to it. The composition was made by cards popping up on the screen in different orders and the children played the correct instrument at the correct time following these. Sounds complicated but apparently it was great fun

In Skills Academy in KS1 we have been looking at an artist called Kandinsky and tried to create our own version version of his Concentric Circles piece.
We are trying to get better at number fluency so each week we look at a different multiplication table. This time it’s counting in 7s! To help us do this we try and look for any patterns, doubles and spot odd and even numbers.
Different groups of children made different amounts of money in as many different ways as they could. They made 10p to start with using 1p, 2p and 5p then larger amounts up to 70p using a greater range of coins. Some groups then represented their findings using part-whole models.
The Key Stage 2 choir represented our school with such enthusiasm last week. They performed as part of an enormous choir of just over 6500 children! A highlight was performing alongside Heather Small, Urban Strides, the Beatbox Collective and Anna Phoebe. It was a brilliant day! Gareth enjoyed himself too … clocking up his fourth visit of the week!
Year 2 had to use their listening ears very carefully to identify which hidden instrument was being played. Some children could identify three when they were all played together!
Before the Christmas holiday, Year 1 and 2 had lots of fun learning the song The Twelve Days of Christmas.
The children in Key Stage 1 and 2 are continuing to enjoy their recorder lessons!
We have been working on spotting patterns and then continuing sequences. We found that using base 10 helped us to see what was happening in each number sentence.
Class 2C investigated how many 2D shapes they could make using 18 lollypop sticks. We made lots of polygons and decided to label them afterwards.
