This week we have enjoyed our active maths lessons both inside the classroom and in the hall. The children took the idea of challenging each other very seriously creating some tricky questions for each other in their own version of the game.

This week we have started our Science work on adaptation and evolution. We looked at using a classification key and making up our own criteria.
In Year 3 we have all enjoyed learning about our new topic… Predator. Craig and Jake from Eclipse Falconry visited us in the classroom with a barn owl, a harris hawk, a ferret, a python and a rabbit (we were also discussing prey!). We found out lots of information about these animals and were able to hold the barn owl
We have had a creative week in Reception! We’ve made gingerbread houses using different collage materials and have practised our cutting and sticking skills. We were also set a challenge to make a house using straws and marshmallows. It was a bit tricky!! We even decorated our play house outside with cakes, biscuits and sweets (chalks)!
This week, children in 5W and 5S met in the Learning Hub for a science lesson. Each class had been studying different life-cycles (of Mammals and Amphibians) and they were given the opportunity to ask each other questions and find out about what each class had learned. We set up the Learning Hub to challenge each other to our own maths questions based on what we have learnt so far in Year 6.
The children came up with some wonderful ideas of what they would like to explore over this half term before completing their map jigsaws. Their teamwork was very impressive!
The children in photography club spent Friday afternoon jumping into the sun and capturing a variety of amazing shots! What else will they come up with over the next few weeks?
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had a fantastic time watching the pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We had lots of fun! Oh yes we did!!!
Jack gave us some magic beans to count. We practised our addition too!
