Forest school and Caring Skills Academy Clubs joined together to make some bird feeders. We all decided that the birds needed someone to care for them too! The children loved making them and took them home to put out for the hungry birds.
We have written some stories about a banana’s adventure as it travels through the human digestive system. We tried to include scientific words and lots of descriptive vocabulary. Here are some extracts from our books:
We have been learning about forces in Year 3. We investigated the force needed to move an object, and the effect a lever has on this. We recorded our results in a table and drew our own conclusions about how levers help us to move objects with less force needed.
Mrs Kingswell’s maths group went into the learning hub this week. We looked at some information and thought about different maths problems and questions that we could write and then solve. We tried to use mathematical language and different operations. We thought carefully about which methods we would need to use to solve our problems.
In Nursery we had fun carrying out an experiment. We put dirty coins into bowls with salt and vinegar, lemon juice, cola and ketchup. We waited 30 seconds and then took them out to clean. The coin from the salt and vinegar bowl was the shiniest.
The Kapla creations keep getting bigger and better at the Skills Academy Learning Hub Club. I think this is the biggest tower yet with two people trapped inside!
The children had a fantastic time celebrating Zooky’s and Polly’s birthdays. We played games, danced and ate birthday cake!
This morning, year 2 enjoyed editing texts. We worked well in teams and were able to find errors. We enjoyed being the teachers!
