6M and 6A were very pleased with their hot chocolate treat for being the best behaved classes last half term. Well done children!

This week, to celebrate ‘Science Week’, Year 5 learned about a diverse range of hormones and how they affect us during a typical day. Children also investigated floating and buoyancy. As part of this, it lead us to find out more about Samuel Plimsoll and how he changed the shipping industry throughout the world.
We had a great time doing lots of sporty activities. On Thursday Mr Burgess helped us to complete an assault course during our P.E lesson. On Friday we dressed in sports wear and did lots of other fun and energetic activities.
We are learning about the Greek Myths. We heard the story of Icarus and Daedalus. We wanted to find out if the myth could be scientifically possible! Was there a different reason Icarus may have fallen from the sky? We made our own wax and feather wings and placed them in the oven, the freezer and in water. We took
We had fun taking part in an obstacle course for Sport Relief. We really enjoyed going under, over, around and through different obstacles. It was lots of fun!
We had lots of fun finding out about being loud and quiet. We played ‘Chinese Whispers’. It was very tricky to get the message right! We then went on the playground and shouted our messages to each other. We had to listen very carefully!
This afternoon, Year 2 created a castle wall and launched a range of projectiles at it. We predicted which projectile would knock the most bricks down and created a pictogram using our results.
This week, Year 2 have been learning to create and analyse data. Yesterday we created our own human pictogram.
Year 2 began to read ‘The Tunnel’ this morning by Anthony Browne. We talked about whether the girl should go through the tunnel after her brother and created a conscience alley of thoughts. We also took a vote about whether she should go and collected and analysed this data.
