We wrote a set of instructions for making iced biscuits. We had to follow the instructions, exactly as they had been written, to create our masterpieces!

Thank you to all the children who have made potions to add to our displays. We have been really pleased that so many children have been enjoying our topic and have continued with their investigating at home, without being asked to. We have really enjoyed looking at all the potions and finding out how they were made.
We have been thinking about the impact of our writing on the reader and experimenting with different sentence types. We are going to re-write the traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs but make it appropriate for 11 year olds. Watch this space for our final versions.
We worked in small groups writing magic potions and then we had fun trying to make them. We measured the ingredients carefully.
We started this half term with a QR code hunt where we found words linked to our Potions topic. Some of the words were from “Alice in Wonderland” so we ended our first week in year 4 with a party with jam tarts!
We made the most of the weather and took our maths lesson outside. Its surprising how many questions you can answer when you turn it into a competition. Our problem solving skills and teamwork are definitely improving!
Today, we were assigned our evacuation family. Some of us were lucky enough to go to a kind, caring family whereas others definitely did not! We will be writing letters home based on our experiences.
Year 6 have been using chalks and cones to help them learn multiplication and division facts. They enjoyed the chance to do active maths outdoors.
Mrs Skelton-Morris’ Maths group have been making the most of the new whiteboard tables in the Learning Hub 2 to help them with their problem solving.
During assembly this morning we followed Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, and got our bodies moving. We all had a lot of fun and it was a great way to start the day.
