We are really proud of the effort the children have put into their swimming lessons this week. It has been a tiring week for them but their progress has been outstanding.

In Reception we enjoyed looking for minibeasts in our outdoor area. We explored the woodland habitat, looking in soil, in the log pile and under stones and pots! You wouldn’t believe how many different kinds of minibeasts we found!
Children in year one had fun at their garden party this afternoon. They learnt about the Queen and enjoyed making flags, eating jam sandwiches and of course… bowing and curtseying!
Our challenge was to make a rocket. We had to make a cone for the nose and some fins, then we had to decide how much water to take out of the bottle. Mrs Poole launched all the rockets!

We loved having Mrs Lindsay’s dog, Piper come and visit Nursery. We learnt how Mrs Lindsay looks after her and what she likes to eat. We were able to give her some treats too. Piper was very clever and could sit and give her paw. She could even ‘high five’ when she was asked. Piper was very soft to stroke.

On Wednesday Reception went on a terrific trip! We learned all about minibeasts and their habitats! We really enjoyed pond dipping and exploring the woods. We found lots of different minibeasts, including beetles, worms and slugs! Mrs Gould’s class even found some newts hiding in the pond! We had a lovely picnic and had ice cream for dessert! Yummy!
2C had lots of fun using Kapla! They learned about different types of bridges and then everyone built their own in groups. We also challenged ourselves to build the tallest tower they could. Some groups thought very carefully about how to make their structure strong and stable.
Before Easter, we started to learn how to use apostrophes for contraction using Duplo blocks!
