We enjoyed our mini trip to Binley Road! We saw lots of different kinds of vehicles! We counted the traffic and made a tally charts too!
In Nursery this week we had a ‘special breakfast’! We spoke about what we normally have for breakfast each day and what we like to eat! We also discussed which foods are healthy and which are unhealthy. Our ‘special breakfast’ was very tasty! We toasted the bread and used a knife to spread butter, jam, chocolate spread or honey!
Over the last few weeks in English, we have been building up to writing our own story about George and the Dragon. The sentence types we have tried to include are similes, alliteration, dialogue, noticing, feelings and many more! Here we are working VERY hard independently and a few examples of our plans.
The children enjoyed tasting different foods from Mexico. We were impressed with how adventurous they were at trying the spicy foods. We also enjoyed decorating our ‘Day of the dead’ masks and making our own lanterns.
The children applied their maths knowledge to find out the answers to a variety of questions.
Groups of Year 5 children have managed to complete some of their maths work outside this week, despite the poor weather. These featured children are trying to solve word problems, but as well as speedy, accurate calculating, they also needed to retrieve and replace the information as quickly as possible. Well done to all.
After learning about the mummification process during our studies of Ancient Egypt, Year 5 children designed their own canopic jars. They impressed us all with their very impressive work!
1S went to have a look at the tadpoles and newts in the school pond! We also had a look at all of the vegetables that year 3 forest school have planted. The children are looking forward to seeing them grow!
