We took our maths lesson outside this week and went on a road trip. We calculated how far we had travelled each hour and then created a line graph to represent our journey.

We were impressed with the fruit and vegetables growing in our Geodome and helped t water the flowerbeds.
This week, we made the most of the one sunny day we had and went to visit the newts at the pond. It was a lot of fun! We were pleasantly surprised with how many we found but disgusted by the smell of the water.
We were so excited to have our own pet caterpillars! We watched them grow and grow! One day the caterpillars turned into chrysalises. We waited and watched and then out emerged some beautiful butterflies!
In Reception we made some lovely ladybirds using paper and glue. We also learned about the life cycle of a ladybird too!
We decided to make pet rocks this week. First of all we chose a stone and washed all the mud off. We then painted it and added features including wobbly eyes, feathers and pom-poms. We thought of lots of different names for our pet rocks including Spotty, Rainbow, Monster, Rocky, Jack and Rosie. Some of the ‘food’ our pet rocks
2C thoroughly enjoyed looking for minibeasts around the school grounds. The collected, identified and marked on an aerial view of the school grounds, where they found the creatures.
The Y3 Forest Schools children took a quick break from planting our home grown plants outside, to do some pond dipping. They found some water beetles, tadpoles, all kinds of larvae and a common newt.
We got creative in Reception and made some ‘Funky Finger Spider Webs’ using paper plates and wool!
