The children have been enjoying their skills academy clubs this half term. Some children went to play tennis at The Coventry and Warwickshire Tennis club while others have been using their fine motor skills during hammerbead club and singing their hearts our during karaoke club.

Here we can see a group of Year 5 boys enjoying a cold, but very active Maths session. Using mental calculation strategies, they had to add large numbers…but while racing against each other at the same time! Typical scores at the end of the session were 10’s and 11’s out of 12, which was a great performance. Well done.
To finish off our Tower, Tunnels and Turrets topic, we are all coming together, in each year 2 class, for a special project. The three little pigs are having some wolf problems and need a more secure place to live. We have to build a castle type structure for the pigs, using all our knowledge of castles. The class has
In year 2 we have been looking at different towers and were tasked with creating a special tower for Rapunzel. In the past, we looked at how tall we could build a tower but this time we needed to build one which included a roof/balcony area. Using Kapla, we created these!
We had lots of fun chasing bubbles outside! They were really big and some of them floated up high in the sky! It was a lot of fun!
We loved using our giant teapots for playing in the water. It was lots of fun!
The children in Reception enjoyed painting minibeasts! It’s a good job they aren’t really this size! See the gallery below!
Now the summer is here, we have been enjoying lots of our PE lessons outside.
Our younger children have thoroughly enjoyed their PE lessons in the hall where they have been learning to improve their balancing skills and fitness levels.
Year 6 have been practicing their cricket skills and working on throwing accurately.
