We met Chester the school dog and Mr Taylor told all about how to look after him. Children then wrote some captions about Chester using the programme J2E. We are getting really good at logging on, naming and saving our work!

British Science Week wanted us to think about growth this year and how different things around the world grow and adapt. Year 2 have look specifically at Gentoo Penguins that live in Antarctica. Their habitat is becoming warmer and therefore the weather is changing. Stronger winds and more rain make it hard for them to build their nests. They have
1S went to see the chickens – we were so happy to see three eggs! Children learnt about the life cycle of a chicken and wondered ‘what came first, the chicken or the egg?’ We all hope that there will be chicks at some point!
We have been enjoying the lovely sunny weather outside! The mud kitchen was a favourite choice. We made ‘petal pies’ and ‘mud soup’! They were very tasty!
Mr Riley plays a trumpet and trombone! We recognised some of the tunes he played, such as ‘Incy Wincy’ and ‘Harry Potter’!
This week we have been learning about orchestras and the different families of instruments! Did you know that in an orchestra there is a woodwind section, a strings section, a brass section and a percussion section? We had fun with our ‘Percussion Orchestra’ and our ‘Pots and Pans Orchestra’!
We enjoyed listening to the story, ‘My Mum is a Supermum’. We decided to draw a picture of our mums. We hope you like our work!
