We had lots of fun dressing up as superheroes for the day and enjoyed eating yummy cakes! We raised lots of money too for Comic Relief!

We have been scientists this week! We have done lots of different experiments to explore the science of sound. We have learned how vibrations make sound waves in the air.
This week in science Year 5 have been learning about forces: especially gravity. Their task was to design a parachute for a sky-diving company that would bring their customers down to earth slowly and safely.
We enjoyed painting some Spring flowers, including daffodils and tulips. We looked at the different parts of the flower, including the stem, leaves and petals, to see what colour and shape they were. We worked hard! We hope you like our work!
In Mrs Kingswell’s Maths group, the children have been playing games with playing cards to practise their maths fluency.
Our year 5 and 6 sports leaders have been putting their planning skills to the test this week. We visited Reception’s PE lesson to pick up some tips from Mr Burgess and then spent some time planning our own sessions for Y1 and Y2 in a couple of weeks.
This week, 6A took their SPAG lesson outside and had a friendly competition to see who could find the most errors in an old test paper.
This week we had a visitor who talked to us about having a growth mindset. We can achieve. We will succeed. We are amazing!
We listened to different pieces of loud music and quiet music. We used different media to ‘dance’ on paper to create patterns.
Key Stage 1 School Council have been making posters to advertise our cake sale on Red Nose Day on Friday March 18th! Cake donations gratefully accepted! Don’t forget to dress up as a Superhero and buy lots of delicious cakes!
