During our maths lesson, 4SE used the Base 10 equipment to help multiply numbers by 11 or 12.
Our new topic for this half term is called, ‘Can we explore it?’ We introduced our topic by playing a game of hide and seek in our outdoor area. Year 4 enjoyed creating the layers of the ocean through the medium of paint. As the depths of the ocean got deeper, so did the blue.
In Science today 2C predicted how far they thought they would be able to throw a beanbag in metres. We had some very confident suggestions to start with until we discussed how far they actually were and then they decided that 100 metres was perhaps a little ambitious! We then measured out intervals of one metre on the playground and
Our year 6 children have been doing a great job at supporting the younger children to keep active during their break times. They have enjoyed the responsibility and showed how sensible and imaginative they are. The younger children have been brilliant at following instructions and shown great sportsmanship.
Here is a selection of optional homework which has been completed by children in Year 5 this term. Covering our topics on the Tudor era and the Earth, Sun and Moon, some great projects and pieces of work have been produced, then shown and discussed fully in class. Well done everyone and keep it up!
We had fun at our Christmas party! We played lots of games including pass the parcel and musical statues. A special visitor arrived too! It was Santa and he gave us all a present. We enjoyed our party food as well! It was delicious!
