We have been exploring light and shadows in our dark den. We really enjoyed using our brand new ‘head and wrist’ torches. We discovered that, by pressing a button on the side, they changed colour and that if, for example, you shine the blue light and the red light on the same place, it made purple. We also had fun
Over the half term holiday, the children chose from a list of homework activities. They wrote pirate jokes, wrote diaries of their trips to the coast but many of brought in treasure chests and ships which they had made. We enjoyed learning some of Christmas songs today. We also learned a funny song about a poor king!
This half term Year 6 are perfecting their basketball skills during their invasion games lessons. They are also working on developing their creative skills during their Real PE lessons whilst also focusing on improving their seated balance.
After lunch we went outside onto the playground to make rockets using empty film canisters. It was really exciting waiting for them to explode! Then we put some mints into bottles of coke and watched them explode into fountains! We made small potions bottles and did some colouring.
We started the day by choosing the house were going to be in. We touched the magical ball to make sure we were put in the right one! Then we went onto the playground and made a fizzing potion. After playtime we went back into the hall to make slime.
