Children have studied the story in depth, focusing on all aspects of their comprehension, including characters’ feelings, emotions and intentions. Our new topic for this half term is called ‘Is it shiny?’ So today we decided to make firework pictures. We spoke about how fireworks sound and what colours they are. We dipped tubes in paint and added glitter to make our pictures all shiny and sparkly. We hope you like them!
We had a glorious trip to the Cathedral visiting the new new and old. We learnt a lot of new facts, saw numerous interesting artefacts and gained more of an understanding of the Coventry Blitz.
The children really enjoyed dressing up as World War 2 evacuees. They made their own Anderson shelters, ate rationed food and learnt the national anthem.
Our patience and resilience was put to the test when using a needle and thread to make our sock toys but we were very pleased with the results.
