We found out that for an electrical circuit to work, the circuit had to be complete with no gaps. We used an energy ball and all held hands to make the circuit complete. The energy travelled through us and the ball made a noise. If anyone let go of their partner’s hand, they caused a gap in the circuit so
We have started our Science topic, Electrical Circuits and Conductors. We beganby giving the children one wire, one battery and one bulb and challenging them to light the bulb! Then they had a go at making some other simple series circuits using different electrical components.
The children have now finished their William Morris inspired fabric prints. They embellished them by sewing on some beads and sequins and adding different kinds of stitches. We think they all did an amazing job.
Although it’s been a little cloudier today, Groups C and D have had a great morning on the beach – we started with rock pooling and then enjoyed an ice cream after lunch. This afternoon they did a brilliant job navigating their way back to the centre.
Group B had a great day down the mines today. The day began with a scramble up towards the mine entrance where we had our lunch before heading in. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the mines and displayed lots of perseverance, overcoming some tough obstacles to make it through safely.
Group C have shone today – this morning they went rock scrambling and this afternoon they had fun on (and in!) the water. Some children chose kayaks whilst others chose canoes and there were varying degrees of success with several children ending up in the water!
