As some children in Year 5 begin their Forest School sessions, they start to discover allotments (linked to their geography topic of Sow, Grow and Farm). We looked at our own allotment area and talked about the different animals you might find in these areas. Then, using their knowledge of food webs, they created a typical food web for an urban allotment such as ours.
The children worked hard in the cold weather to work as a team and include all the animals in their webs.
