It was very exciting travelling on the coach to Coombe Country Park. When we arrived we were greeted by the rangers Chris and Dawn. The children listened to the Story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle and then went on a bug hunt in the meadow.
The children explored the woodland using their senses. The rangers showed the children some ‘magic marbles’ which helped to increase their listening and smelling skills! They then had to listen to sounds they could hear and also think about the different smells in the woodland. The children enjoyed looking at the textures of bark and then did some rubbings.
We then had to give the ducks their dinner before we could have our picnic, which was great fun! We finished off the day by having a wonderful time in the adventure playground!
