- This week…Some of the learning has included using rekenreks to make amounts, using vocabulary such as double, not double, equal and not equal when comparing amounts and looking at patterns in maths. In other areas we have been focusing on longer vowel sounds in words, definitions of some new words and as always practicing our tricky words! The children have enjoyed exploring plants and animals that live in or near the seaside and exploring things like how crabs move and why litter can hurt the environment through stories such Clem and Crab by Fiona Lumbers and Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts. It has been a busy week but we managed to squeeze in a visit from a dentist and dental nurse too who spoke to the children about oral hygiene; very fascinating! Outside, the children explored with different materials to make their own sea sound instruments and discovered which materials were best to make a boat out of.
