This week as part of our ‘Marvellous Machines’ topic our focus in Reception has been ‘robots’. The children enjoyed exploring and discussing the ‘No-Bot’ book, programmed Bee-Bots and described the dance moves they could see in the Robotboys ft Poppin John video. They may have even tried to recreate some!
In teams, they have worked hard to spell some CVC and CCVC words and in maths have been making some Stampolines. This week’s science investigation had a focus on magnets.
In provision, the children have created stories by using the story dice, have enjoyed building robots and moulding Welsh dragons and English lions (along with the occasional football) in honour of the home nations who are participating in the World Cup.
Outside, the children have been playing ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’, using the adding machine and have continued to enjoy the mechanic role play area.
